Although she enjoys working with a variety of clients, Kim's practice focuses on energizing moms and dads to become healthier and happier parents equipped with the tools necessary to improve the eating habits and overall health and wellbeing of their children. In addition to teaching parents how to find the right foods for their bodies, Kim helps them to balance Primary Food which includes finding honest and open relationships, a meaningful spiritual practice, an inspirational career, and physical activity that is enjoyable. In order for children to be healthy, happy and well-rounded little people, their parents must be, too.

Prior to beginning her career as a health counselor, Kim was the Program Director for the Washington Youth Garden at the U.S. National Arboretum where she helped youth and families in the District of Columbia discover where their food comes from, how to grow it organically and how to cook it in tasty, yet healthy ways. Kim holds memberships in the American Association for Drugless Practitioners, Slow Food, the Herb Society of America, Route 1 Velo and the Weston A. Price Foundation. Kim is also one of the founding members of the Greenbelt Farmers Market. Becoming a parent can be a huge adjustment. When you were pregnant it was all about taking care of you. Now that the baby is here you are responsible for another human being's well being. It is not surprising that feelings of anxiety and depression may surface after giving birth. Much of these changes in mood can be attributed to hormonal changes or sleep deprivation.

In some cases, these stressful feelings can dissipate over time. But in other instances they can be hard to work through on your own. Even if you have a caring partner and family it may be hard to get the assistance you need.

Supportive Counseling can help. Give me a call at 202-215-2790 or send me an email at jenko108@gmail.com so we can talk about your specific situation. I am a parent myself who has worked with many women and their partners. They have all struggled and made it through using strategies to reduce stress and to begin to enjoy their new family. I am available to speak with you at no charge to determine if my services can be of use to you. Call me at 202-215-2790 or email me at jenko108@gmail.com.
